Grants & Scholarships

Old Island Restoration Foundation, a nonprofit organization, was organized in 1960 to promote the preservation and restoration of historically significant buildings.  The Foundation also administers and maintains the Oldest House Museum and Garden at 322 Duval Street.

The foundation established the Nancy Ordway Jameson Scholarship to honor the former director of the Oldest House Museum who spent more than 22 years working with the Foundation.  Scholarship assistance is made through Take Stock in Children, an award winning scholarship and mentoring program.  OIRF's donation will help support graduating Key West secondary students.

The foundation also awards Historic preservation grants for projects that demonstrate historic architectural significance.  Applications are available from December 15 to January 15 of each year.

More on the most recent recipients may be found here.

Funding for these activities is raised through the annual home tours, membership, donations and special events.
